Director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware, Charles Elson is one of the foremost authorities on corporate governance issues in the United States. Professor Elson is “Of Counsel” to the law firm of Holland & Knight and holds the Edgar S. Woolard, Jr. Chair in Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware. He has written extensively on the subject of boards of directors and is Vice Chairman of the ABA Business Law Section’s Committee on Corporate Governance. In addition to his extensive knowledge of and experience in matters relating to corporate governance, he has served on the board of directors of HealthSouth since 2004, in addition to the previous boards of AutoZone, Alderwoods Group, Nuevo Energy, Sunbeam, and Circon.
